Our Minnesota ABA Therapy Services
We understand that each child is unique, which is why we offer a comprehensive range of ABA therapy services tailored to meet the specific needs of each child and family.
Home-based ABA therapy means your child learns where they live. A Behavior Technician comes to your door, works one-to-one on the goals your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) set with you, and does it in the rooms where those skills matter – asking for help at the kitchen table, managing a change of plan in the living room, getting ready in their own bedroom. You meet that technician before the first session, and if the match is not right we keep looking until it is.
Some families also want therapy to carry into the classroom; you can read how that works on our home and school-based ABA services page. Families still waiting on a diagnosis can begin with our autism diagnostic evaluations.
Individualized Treatment Plans
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) conduct thorough assessments to develop customized treatment plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.
Behavioral Interventions
Targeted, data-driven interventions that enhance communication, social skills, academic skills, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors.
Parent Training and Support:
We equip parents with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to support their child's development at home and in the community.
Ongoing Assessment and Adjustment:
Comprehensive autism evaluations and CMDE assessments guide individualized support, with treatment plans adjusted as your child progresses.
Meet your Behavior Technician before sessions begin
We don’t assign therapists from a spreadsheet. Before therapy begins, your family meets the proposed Behavior Technician to see, in person, whether it’s a good fit. If it isn’t, we’ll keep matching until it is. The relationship between your child and their BT does the heaviest lifting in this work, so we won’t shortcut it.
Most Minnesota families we evaluate are scheduled for their CMDE within 1–2 weeks of first contact (well ahead of the months-long waits families often face elsewhere) so your child’s EIDBI paperwork and treatment plan can move forward without a long pause between diagnosis and starting therapy.
Fast CMDE Evaluations for EIDBI Services
If your child still needs a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) to access Minnesota Medicaid EIDBI services, we offer immediate, in-house CMDE evaluations, no waitlist. For a full walkthrough of how EIDBI, CMDE, and ABA therapy fit together, see our Minnesota Parent’s Complete Guide to EIDBI Services.

EIDBI in Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and Dakota counties
EIDBI is a statewide benefit, but the county you live in decides which case manager you deal with and how quickly things move. Families in Hennepin County, which covers Minneapolis and most of the western metro, usually start with a CMDE and then wait on county authorization rather than on us.
Ramsey County, covering St. Paul, runs the same process on a different timetable, and Anoka and Dakota counties are usually the quickest of the four. We work with all of them, and we will tell you at the first call which stage is likely to take longest for your county rather than after you have started. The evaluation itself is the part we control, and our CMDE evaluations have no waitlist. The wider picture, including what EIDBI covers and who qualifies, is set out in our Minnesota parent guide to EIDBI.

FAQs
Do you provide in-home ABA therapy in Minneapolis?
Yes. We work with families right across Minneapolis – Uptown and the Southwest neighbourhoods, Northeast, Downtown, Powderhorn, Longfellow, Nokomis and Near North – as well as St. Paul and the wider Twin Cities metro. Sessions happen in your own home, so there is no commute across the city with a tired child in the back seat.
Does Alight Behavioral offer CMDE evaluations for EIDBI services?
Yes. We provide immediate, in-house CMDE evaluations with no waitlist, so your child can access Minnesota Medicaid EIDBI services without delay.
What areas of Minnesota do you serve?
We serve the Twin Cities metro, including Minneapolis and Saint Paul, as well as Rochester, Duluth, St. Cloud, and rural counties across the state. If your county isn't listed, contact us, our coverage is expanding.
How do I know if my child needs a CMDE before starting ABA therapy?
Type your paragraph hereIf your child hasn't yet completed a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation and you're pursuing EIDBI benefits through Minnesota Medicaid, a CMDE is typically required first. See our EIDBI guide for details, or contact us and we'll walk you through it.
Will I meet my child's therapist before therapy starts?
Yes. We introduce your family to the proposed Behavior Technician before sessions begin, and we'll keep matching until it's the right fit.
How do I get started with in-home ABA therapy in Minnesota?
Contact us today to schedule a consultation. We'll verify your benefits, walk you through CMDE or EIDBI steps if needed, and match you with the right team.
What is the difference between home-based and centre-based ABA therapy?
Centre-based therapy asks your family to travel to a clinic; home-based therapy brings the therapist to you. Alight Behavioral works in the home and the community because that is where the skills actually get used – the kitchen, the park, the shop on the corner. Neither model is right for every child, but if travel, siblings or a working schedule make a clinic hard, in-home ABA removes that obstacle entirely.
How quickly can we start in-home ABA therapy in Minnesota?
That depends on whether your child already has a diagnosis and, for EIDBI, a completed CMDE. Most Minnesota families we evaluate are seen for their CMDE within a week or two of first contact, which is well ahead of the waits families often face elsewhere. We will not put a date on your child’s progress, but we can be straight with you about where you stand on scheduling.
